SUSTAINABILITY

At Arden Winch, sustainability is a core value.

We are proud to be leading the way within our industry for sustainable change and environmental protection.

We are continuously striving for ways to minimise our footprint; from reducing our light and noise pollution, to planting trees and protecting wildlife habitat, to reusing and recycling materials wherever possible.

Our carbon reduction plan

In 2022, we set our company goal to become carbon neutral by 2030.

Through the creation and implementation of our Carbon Reduction Plan & Policy, we took measurable steps to educate our team, update our processes, protect biodiversity and continuously reduce our carbon footprint.

Including investments into:

  • 240 solar panels to generate clean renewable energy.
  • A 10kW battery storage system to ensure constant supply.
  • Hybrid and electric company cars to reduce travel emissions.
  • Multiple on-site EV charging free for employee use.
  • A highly efficient ground source heat pump for heating and hot water.
  • LED lighting throughout both sites for electricity reduction.

These investments achieved a CO2 reduction of 26.3 tonnes within the first two years of implementation, taking us from an annual carbon footprint of 55.6 tonnes to 29.3 tonnes. The equivalent reduction of a year’s absorption from 1,315 mature trees.

The significant reduction achieved to date, coupled with our ongoing transition to electric delivery vans, has accelerated our progress towards carbon neutrality.

We are now forecasted to become carbon neutral by 2028.

The final steps to carbon neutral

Electric delivery fleet

Delivery fleet to be replaced with electric Renault Master E-Tech vans.

Charging infrastructure

Electric vehicle charging infrastructure to be expanded for the delivery fleet.

Solar and battery upgrade

Solar panel array and battery storage to be upgraded for higher capacity.

Helping you choose greener

We recognise that businesses have an important role to play in protecting our planet.

That is why we are proud to work closely with brands such as Regatta Professional, Leo Workwear and V12 to help customers nationwide to make greener purchasing decisions.

Many of our product offerings are manufactured from recycled materials such as recycled polyester and recycled plastic which ensures less waste is generated and less fossil fuels are burnt to create new materials.

Some of our newest product offerings are now not only manufactured from recycled materials but use mono-fibre fabric and trims which are able to be recycled again for full circularity.
